Writing A Design Brief

I can’t begin to stress the importance of a clearly defined design brief before commencing a project. I urge aspiring designers to spend the time at the beginning of a commission to sit down with the client and gather all the relevant information that will enable you to meet the project objectives in a progressional and profitable manner. Ideally, the brief will contain all the information about the client’s business, their objectives and the rationale behind the design project. The brief should also contain information about the design process, expectations and timeframes.
